About

Hello, and thank you for visiting Simple SQL Tutorials! I hope I have helped you learn a thing or two about querying and developing SQL Server databases.

My name is Josh, and I have been working with databases as an Application Developer for over 10 years. I graduated from Florida State University in December of 2011 with a degree in Computer Science. That is where I first learned about databases, and where I began to take an interest in the field of data science.

In 2020, after working with databases in various capacities for a few years, I decided to pursue two Microsoft certifications to validate my skills in the field of database development. I earned an MTA Certification (Microsoft Technology Associate) in Database Fundamentals in July of 2020, then earned an MCSA Certification (Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate) in SQL 2016 Database Development in January of 2021.

One reason I started this blog is because I know, firsthand, how complicated some SQL Server topics can be. While trying to learn some of these topics, I would sometimes find typos or errors in the books and websites I was reading, or maybe some important details were simply left out. SQL Server can be confusing enough as it is without adding these problems into the mix. These problems would only confuse me more and force me to spend more time seeking out other, more accurate sources.

My goal with Simple SQL Tutorials is to offer that simplified, accurate training I wish I had, while also breaking down these complicated SQL Server topics into terms that are easy to understand.

Thank you again for reading! Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have questions.
